2020/21  Sakeliga aangebied deur Stellenbosch Van Der Stel Rolbalklub

Friday, 28 February 2020 12:51

2020/21 Business League hosted by Stellenbosch Van Der Stel Bowling Club

The 2020/21 summer season business league hosted by Stellenbosch Van Der Stel Bowling Club presided over by Marlene Lambrechts and Lieb Swiegers kicked off during February 2020 and stretched over four Wednesdays with the final on 26 February 2020. The tournament is held twice yearly (Feb and Nov) offered to non-bowling players and is hugely popular with participants and serves as a good team building for social entities and local businesses.

The 14 rinks on the two greens were fully occupied each night by 28 teams consisting of 112 enthusiastic players, young and older, of both genders from the town's business community.

Competition between the teams was fierce and the quality of the games was excellent. Eighteen teams scored 30 points or more up to the final round and the Woodchuckers team with 49 points won the competition. In second place was the Ebowla team with 43 points followed by the Vanderbylbergh team in third place also with 43 points. The Vanderbylbergh team won the competition by 48 points in November 2019.

As in previous years, there is lots of fun socially and delicious home-cooked food.
